Although there was substantial rainfall during the growing season leading up to the 2012 vintage, the warm and dry weather that followed in January led to the production of fruit of exceptional quality. As Sauvignon Blanc was one of the varieties that performed particularly well in 2012, it was decided to increase the contribution of this grape variety in the white blend made from fruit grown on the Mangan Vineyard and thus it slightly exceeded that of Semillon.
The addition of a small amount of Verdelho has added an extra touch of complexity and attractive lifted fruit characters. Maturation of a small volume of the wine in two year old oak barrels has further enhanced the complexity of this very attractive white blend.

Mangan Vineyard Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2012 A 54/43/3% blend of sauvignon blanc, semillon and verdelho; wild yeast-fermented; but only 6% barrel-fermented in French oak. Vibrantly fresh, and with great length to its citrus/lime/lemon fruit, balanced acidity driving the finish. Cullen says cellar now to 15 years. Rating 94 - Drink to 2017, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2015
A blend of 54% Sauvignon Blanc, 43% Semillon and 3% Verdelho with 8% raised in French oak for nine months, the 2012 Mangan Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is scented of fresh grapefruit, lime juice, dill and lanolin with a hint of crushed stones. Light-bodied, it is very youthful, tightly-knit and a little tart at this stage. Give it another 2-3 years in bottle and drink to 2020+. Winery Tasting Notes
Combines very intense lifted aromatic lime and feijoa and green pineapple aromas.
Rich and flavoursome blend of paw paw, lime and nougat with a touch of spice. The good acid ensures that the finish is delightfully crisp. Delicious!
Great current drinking or cellar for up to 15 years.
