The Turret Riesling is a semi sweet Riesling which has wonderful balance between natural acidity and the residual sugar left in the wine. The wine has been changing over the past two or three years. The residual sugar content is now about 25 grams compared with approximately 43 grams of sugar some years ago and compared with over 50 grams in many other Late Harvest labelled Rieslings.
And Late Harvest is a misnomer used to indicate an off-dry or sweeter wine regardless of picking time. So it was time to make a change, despite the marketing disruption that inevitably accompanies change.

Winery Tasting Notes
Pale straw colour.
A delicate floral nose showing a blend of tropical passion fruit and grapefruit, citrus notes.
The front palate is dominated by passionfruit characters, backed by some floral and citrus notes. The sugar gives a lovely richness to the mid palate. The Riesling acid structure is in excellent balance with the sugar and provides a clean and refreshing finish.
This wine can be matched with a wide range of light dishes due to its great balance. Great on a hot summer’s day, used as an aperitif or to complement spicy Asian dishes.
Designed to be enjoyed now, though will gain toasty aged Riesling characters with careful cellaring for up to eight years.
