Fruit for our first vintage of this wine came from a vineyard situated in the northern area of the Adelaide Hills, namely “Section 400”, not far from the original Chain of Ponds township.

Winery Tasting Notes
Deep cherry red with light plum red hue.
Initially you are greeted by dark cherry, hints of strawberry and rhubarb with nuances of beetroot and black forest cake. Slight herbal notes of sage and a hint of eucalypt are balanced by the slight savouriness from the oak.
On the palate there are juicy cherry and blueberry fruits. Rhubarb sourness is balanced by plum and sweet beetroot. As the flavour progresses, hints of chestnut, spice, dried herbs and a hint of char complement the freshness of the fruits. Well rounded medium to full bodied palate with structural velvety tannins and
good acid produce a very enjoyable wine suitable for many duck and lighter red meat dishes.
