Overview
Cool Woods range of wines are produced by Thorn-Clarke winery in the Barossa, South Australia.
The name Cool Woods was inspired by the rolling hills and scattered ‘big gums’ at the Angaston vineyard. These hills were once heavily forested with eucalypt, settlement of the region in the mid 1800’s resulted in clearing of large grazing properties by the early settlers – today some of the gums still standing on the property are over 200 years old.

Aroma
The nose is lifted berry fruits, with hints of dark chocolate and spice.
Palate
The palate is medium bodied with intense plummy fruit. This plummy fruit fills the whole palate and combined with the soft and approachable tannins creates a very mouth filling wine. The length of flavour is long with plumy and liquorice fruit and spicy oak.

Cool Woods wines are produced with fruit from this Eden Valley vineyard, along with grapes sourced from other South Australian winemaking regions.Combining our own fruit with grapes from other regions ensures that each vintage displays consistency, fantastic fruit qualities along with good varietal character and acid structure – ensuring the whites are crisp and clean, and the reds full of flavour and well balanced.
