This wine was made using tempranillo grapes from vineyards in the mid-zone; that is, between an altitude of 500 and 540 metres. 100% of these grapes are hand picked from goblet (90%) and trellis-trained bushes (10%).

Colour

Core colour of cherries, intense, layred, with a lively edge.

Aroma

Ripe fruit, liquorice, blackcurrant, toffee and mocha.

Palate

Full, flavourful and powerful. Red berry confit, macerated morello cherries, a lot of liquorice and a little bit of cocoa perfectly integrated. Warm texture and good volume. An intense, persistent finish.

Winery Profile

Established in 1964 by a group of local vine growers, the Bodegas y Vinedos Labastida cooperative has currently 152members. All of them apply their experience and know-how to obtain the best quality wines from their 1,330 acresof own vineyards planted with vines which are over 25 years old. With such immense terrain, it is one of the largestwineries in the La Rioja to control their production from the vine to the bottle.
