Expert Reviews

Very pale straw-green; the cool vintage has led to aromas and favours more often found with sauvignon blanc, but are nonetheless attractive, lime and lemongrass to the fore. Rating 89 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (DEC/2011)

Winery Tasting Notes

The Verdelho is phase harvested in order to showcase the three distinct flavor profiles of the variety that are apparent during the ripening process. The first are the grassy, pungent characters accompanied by lively natural acidity. The second displays tropical fruit flavours and the third is that of a beautifully scented honeysuckle blossom.

As a consequence of the phased harvesting, the 2011 Verdelho displays an intriguing and feisty array of flavours which includes kaffir lime leaf, passionfruit and honeycomb all leading into an endearing textural finish.
