The Vicar is Chapel Hill’s flagship wine and is an annual vineyard selection of Chapel Hill’s most outstanding parcels of McLaren Vale Shiraz. This wine is intended to embody our commitment to the region, the variety and to minimal intervention winemaking. The contributing vineyards for The Vicar 2010 Shiraz were:
- Inkwell Vineyard Block 1
- Inkwell Vineyard Block 2
- Trembath Vineyard Front Block
We would like to congratulate and also dearly thank these growers for their relentless dedication to quality.
- SA - McLaren Vale
- South Australia
Impenetrable colour, dark and brooding in character with concentrated black fruits, spice and toasty oak all playing a major role on the bouquet; the palate is densely packed with absolutely everything but the kitchen sink, yet manages to relay a sense of lightness on the finish; an essay in contained power.

Winery Tasting Notes
The Vicar 2010 Shiraz displays charismatic layers of blueberry, roasted fennel seeds and cured meats, which are seamlessly interwoven into the firm, but poised, savoury texture.
The synergistic balance of the cascading layers of varietal flavour, palate weight, tannin and acidity will ensure that the wine will develop further complexity over the next 15 to 20 years.
