Winery Tasting Notes

The 2011 Chapel Hill Chardonnay was produced from fruit grown in two of South Australia’s most acclaimed Chardonnay regions: McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.

These neighbouring regions exemplify Chardonnay’s invigorating flavour spectrum and both contribute distinctive varietal flavours that mingle effortlessly to culminate in a wine of delicious mouth feel and sublime texture.

In this wine, McLaren Vale’s fruit drive is given additional finesse and structure by the Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

A leading medium-sized winery in the region. In 2000 Chapel Hill was sold to the Swiss Thomas Schmidheiny group, which owns the respected Cuvaison winery in California as well as vineyards in Switzerland and Argentina. Wine quality is as good, if not better, than ever. Winemaker Michael Fragos was named Winemaker of the Year at London's International Wine & Spirit Competition '08. The production comes from the estate plantings of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, verdelho, savagnin, sangiovese and merlot, together with purchased grapes from McLaren Vale. Exports to all other major markets.
