Winery Tasting Notes

Aroma

The 2010 il Vescovo Rosé exudes rose petal and cranberry flavours.

Palate

The palate is subtle and balanced, with lingering pomegranate and chalky flavours. We have opted for a drier style as this in combination with the textural mouth feel, showcases the intricacy’s of Sangiovese and also allows for the wine to be enjoyed in partnership with food.

Winemaking Notes

Sangiovese was purposefully selected for our Rosé due to its varietal charm and savoury tannins. These virtues are perfectly compatible to our pursuit of a drier and more structured style of Rosé.

Brand Profile Image

A leading medium-sized winery in the region. In 2000 Chapel Hill was sold to the Swiss Thomas Schmidheiny group, which owns the respected Cuvaison winery in California as well as vineyards in Switzerland and Argentina. Wine quality is as good, if not better, than ever. Winemaker Michael Fragos was named Winemaker of the Year at London's International Wine & Spirit Competition '08. The production comes from the estate plantings of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, verdelho, savagnin, sangiovese and merlot, together with purchased grapes from McLaren Vale. Exports to all other major markets.
