This consistently disinguished Hawkes Bay red is a Merlot-based blend and is matured for about 18 months in French oak barriques. The 2008 vintage (4.5star) is a powerful, concentrated blend of Merlot (75%), Malbec (11%) and Cabernet Franc (14%). Dark and surdy, with ripe plum and spice flavours, slight coffee notes and excellent complexity and density, its still very youthful 4.5 Star - Michael Cooper, Michael Cooper's Buyers Guide 2011
