Overview

Chateau du Puy Bonnet is located in the upper reaches of Parsac, with only a stream separating it from Saint- Emilion. The Chateau shares the same premium clay- limestone soils as its prestigious neighbour, where Merlot thrives on the sunny slopes. Built towards the end of the 19th century by a former director of Bordeaux's Opera House, the Chateau is of extraordinary beauty. the wines offer all Saint- Emilion's elegance and supple character, together with full- flavoured fruit and silky tannins.

Expert Reviews

This would be mainly Merlot I’d imagine, with a dash of Cabernet Franc. Importer: Grays Wine

Raspberry, spice, chocolate, herbs and tobacco. Medium boded, ripe red fruit, gravelly kind of feel with some dried herbal bitterness coming through on the finish. Good wine. Regional. Typical. Rating 89 - Gary Walsh, Drink to 2019, Wine Front (19/OCT/2015)
