Chateau Clare is located in a unique natural setting in a clearing in the Landiras forest. The Carreyre family, winemakers from generation to generation, have owned the estate since 1733. The name "Clare" was chosen by one of the Chateau's ancestors, symbolising his love for a certain girl called Claire. The gently undulating terroir is made up of small stones, which in places are quite deep and provide the vines with natural drainage. The result is a highly typical Graves wine, where Merlot and Cabernets combine in harmony to form a lovely wine offering delicate aromas of baked cherries, full on the palate, with lovely length on the finish.
