As always, there were Chalkers Crossing wines knocking on every door, including some beautiful prior vintages. Sommeliers take note; this is a serious producer.
James Halliday
Good hue and depth. This is a powerful, full-bodied wine with considerable depth (although less length) to its savoury, spicy black fruits. Contract- grown, with 9 months in American oak (not obvious), it will repay several years cellaring, and is best left alone for the time being. Rating 91 - Drink by 2018 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (JAN/2011)
