As with previous versions, this wine was great fun to be involved with and is sourced exclusively from our home Sound of White vineyard. We have worked hard to optimise aromatics while also building richness and texture into the wine using various winemaking techniques to make a flavoursome, mouthfilling yet dry white wine.
Pinot Gris is a variety that I believe builds flavour with time in the bottle. Drink with confidence through until 2017.

This has a fresh, aromatic, lifted nose of exotic florals with nuances of pears and spices adding detail. Dry to taste the palate is slender and elegantly proportioned with up-front, lifted pure floral and stonefruit fl avours. The fruit is enriched, and the mouthfeel is enlivened by bright acitity, with fine phenolic textures emerging and growing to provide a positive core and line. As the wine flows, the flavours recede, the textures carrying the wine to a moderately long, dry finish with suggestions of stonefruit kernels. This is a fresh, bright, aromatic dry Pinot Gris with a dry, textured finish. Match with most white meat dishes over the next 3+ years. Rating 4 Stars - Raymond Chan
Winery Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow.
Quince, yellow stonefruits, beeswax and spice abound with gentle florals in the background.
A rich yet dry palate with pure flavours following on from the nose. Flavour builds on the palate and combines with subtle lees, alcohol and oak derived notes to give a layered, textured and sustained mouthfeel, underscored with fresh cleansing acidity.
Lovely to drink on its own, it will also match beautifully with pork belly, quail or other poultry, and Asian themed dishes.
Drink with confidence through until 2017.
