Tribute to the famous local brass band who played on the BVE property from 1927 to 1938. The band’s most treasured instrument was the Circular E-flat Bass, purchased with money raised at local concerts. This wine is testament to the superb growing conditions of this iconic wine region and honours the rich cultural history of the Barossa Valley.
2007 was a dry year, yielding small crops of intensely flavoured berries. Minimally and traditionally handled, the wine was matured in a mix of French and American oak barrels for 18 months after fermentation. Gentle pressing, allows for full flavour extraction, without bitterness. A very good expression of a great variety from a great region. Typically Barosssan. Will age gracefully for another 5 – 8 years from release.

Lifted aromas of dark cherry, ripe purple plum, hints of spice and subtle integrated oak.
The palate is firm and rich, the ripe fruit fills the mouth and the length of fruit flavours hold for a long time. Typical Barossa spicy Shiraz, of full bodied nature. An elegant finish of oak and spicy fruit is evident.
Strong cheeses, gamey roasted meats, spicy chorizo and tomato pasta
