The Bussell name is famously entrenched in Margaret River history. John Garrett (JG) Bussell, after emigrating from England, explored the south west of Western Australia and became one of the most successful and prosperous farmers of the region. He was also a justice of the peace and served as a nominee member of the Western Australian legislative council. The scenic coastal town of Busselton is also named after this prominent family.
