Expert Reviews

Plenty of sweet fruit impact. Grainy, textural flavours in the blackberry and asphalt spectrum. Gum leaf and earth as complexing notes. Burly, warm hearted wine but hits the mark fairly well. Rating 89 - Drink by 2020, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2014).

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep, dark red in colour.

Aroma

This wine shows blackcurrants with mint and spice on the nose.

Palate

Typical Langhorne Creek characters of eucalyptus and mint mingle with a hint of dried oregano. This is a structural and savory wine. Dark fruits and spice are matched with fine tannins that build in intensity across the palate providing a long finish.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Brothers in Arms has a history of family grape growing spanning five generations, with Guy Adams' family purchasing the "Metala" property 125 years ago and planting the first vines - Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, in 1891.

Langhorne Creek in South Australia lies on the shores of Lake Alexandrina just a few miles from the Southern Ocean and is without question red wine country.

Guy and his wife Liz head up a dedicated team that are proud to produce wines of balance, structure and texture that are true to the Estate and true to the Langhorne Creek region.
