The Semillon was fermented and matured without oak to allow the varietal characteristics to be fully expressed. The palate is clean and flavoursome with pleasant fruit sweetness characterising the full bodied palate ending in a crisp, refreshing finish. This wine demonstrates the excellent palate structure of Semillon.

Light straw-green; a wine full of flavour, a fleeting glimpse of fresh-cut grass before ripe citrus and some tropical fruit takes over; with an almost succulent mouthfeel; simply can't be compared to Hunter Valley semillon, and delicious now.Drink to 2016: Rating 94 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (OCT/2011)
Winery Tasting Notes
The wine has an elegant, fresh fruity aroma with overtones of cut grass.

South Western Australia had the best of vintages in 2011, and particularly when compared to most other regions in Australia. Margaret River and Ashbrook Estate in particular produced good yields of high quality wine grapes. After some encouraging early winter rainfall the season ended up being one of the driest on record with little rainfall from mid winter to early into the New Year.
The dry, sunny summer and autumn provided perfect ripening conditions for all varieties. Picking times were on average 2 to 3 weeks earlier than normal. An excellent growing season produced sweet, full flavoured grapes in excellent condition.
