The Riesling at Amisfield is planted in 2 blocks, the older vines of the Rocky Knoll area and younger vines on a beautiful elevated terrace above the winery. The sites are low vigour and our Riesling yields small berried fruit with excellent concentration and uniformity.

Great emphasis is placed on canopy management so that we have good consistency with our Riesling year to year. Our Riesling exhibits the pronounced minerality and intense citrus notes we see as a true marker of this terroir. Harvest started in early April and was a sunny delight with no damaging frosts which so often bedevil us here. The fruit came in looking to be of fabulous quality.

Winery Tasting Notes

The wine is a vibrant pale straw/green colour.

The 2010 vintage yielded intense aromatics in our Riesling with citrus, honeysuckle flower, spice and mineral notes.

The palate is elegant and focused, with juicy acidity and great length of flavour. This wine will age beautifully for years to come.
