Winery Tasting Notes

Petaluma Cabernet Sauvignon is a full flavoured, rich dry red, and shows all the spicy, juicy fruit of which the region is renowned.


Aromas of black currants, liquorice cassis and cedar are complemented by a lovely hint of mint.


The palate is big and rich, but also has elegance. Ripe, soft sandy tannins contribute to a generous textural mouth feel.

This wine is a lovely example of the merits of the famed Terra Rosa strips.


An approachable dry red now, the 2012 Cabernet will age gracefully for many years.

Winemaker Andrew Hardy

Andrew began with Petaluma in 1982, working and studying his wayup through the ranks as cellar hand, trainee winemaker and finally leadwinemaker. Successfully interweaving practical, ‘in the vineyard’ workwith university studies, Andrew completed his Bachelor of Appl. Sci(Wine Science) at University of Adelaide in 1990. Nominated in August1999 as a finalist in AGT Wine Magazine's Winemaker of the Year award, Andrew is highly respected for his effortless winemaking style,restrained hand in the winery and engaging manner.
