Expert Reviews

There's character and intensity in this Shiraz of impressive, full vibrant hue, a fleshy and supple assemblage of all the juicy black fruits of the Barossa, with a soft, fine supple tannin structure, notes of spice and understated milk chocolate. An enticing quaffer of fruit intensity and balance. Tyson Stelzer, Rating 92

Standard ferment for 6-8 days; matured for 15 months in French and American oak. Vivid, deep purple-crimson, it is on the transition between medium-bodied and medium to full-bodied, with black fruits and plum running through the mid-palate; a savoury twist on the finish ties the knot. Will repay cellaring. James Halliday, Rating 91, 27th July 2015

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

In the heart of the Barossa Valley, Australia’s best known wine region, lies St Hallett, one of the country’s premier wine producers. Established by the Lindner Family in 1944, for many years St Hallett’s winemaking focus was, like many local wineries, on producing fortified wines. However during the seventies and eighties St Hallett turned to explore the true potential of the Barossa through premium table wines. This has resulted in St Hallett’s elevation as one of Australia’s best producers.

St Hallett is renowned for crafting full-flavored, textured wines entirely from Barossa Valley fruit and is credited with producing benchmark wines of the region such as the iconic St Hallett Old Block Shiraz, made from vines aged up to 100 years old.
