Expert Reviews

Medium to full in weight, it's palate-staining expression of dark plums, liqueur cherries, licorice and dark chocolate overlies a smooth, pliant and fine-grained chassis of fine tannins before a long, sour-edged and savoury finish. An excellent young Barbera, it’s packed with bright varietal character. 90 points.` - Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2009

Winery Tasting Notes

Purple in colour and of medium to full body. The wine shows lifted aromas of herbs, berries, and earthy characters. The palate is rich and ripe with a juicy middle palate followed by typical long savoury tannins. A great combination of Italian varietal definition and Hunter Valley terroir. Definitely a food wine that is great with all pasta dishes. It is hard to say how long it will age for as it is the only Hunter Valley Barbera available.
