Made from 100% Pinot Noir fruit from selected vineyards within the Piccadilly Valley, Croser Rosé grapes are handpicked, chilled and whole bunch pressed, before fermentation in old barriques. In almost all ways this wine is made in the traditional method, true to the style of Petaluma Croser.

Expert Reviews

Sports the most ghastly remake of what was once a very elegant label, the virulent puce colour to blame. A 100% pinot noir, tiraged into this bottle Nov '08. Pale salmon, it is well-balanced, with complex spice, brioche and cake flavours intermingling with red berry fruit in the background; good balance, mouthfeel and length. Rating 94 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (SEP/2011)

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

The unique Piccadilly Valley, 25 minutes from Adelaide behind Mount Lofty, is a cool, high rainfall viticultural region, climatically ideal for the production of Croser.

The Piccadilly Valley was chosen based on the belief that selected cool sites in the valley would produce Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of moderate sugar, high acid and finesse of flavour. Croser matures on yeast lees in the cool cellars of the Bridgewater Mill for two years before remuage and disgorging. The pristine flavours, defining acidity and elegant fruit structure sets Croser apart as one of Australia’s few aperitif style sparkling wines.

Croser is an age-worthy wine so each year a small proportion of each vintage is held back and allowed to mature for ten years prior to release. Croser Proprietors Reserve wines are identified by a red strip entwined in the cigar band, which guarantees the wine has been stored on lees at Petaluma’s sparkling cellars and disgorged prior to re-release to ensure freshness.
