Taltarni’s vineyards in the Pyrenees are the source of two highly coveted sparkling wines - Taltarni Brut and Taltarni Taché.
Taché is the French word for ‘stained’. At disgorging Taltarni Taché is stained with red wine, which imparts the unique taste and elegant salmon colour. Taltarni’s Taché 2010 is a blend of three classic sparkling wine varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
2010 is the first vintage produced with our new grape receival area, allowing us to pick all the fruit at optimal ripeness to give the desired fruit flavours and natural acidity needed to produce premium sparkling wine. This exquisite sparkling wine was fermented in its bottle and matured on yeast lees according to traditional methods, creating a final complex and sophisticated sparkling wine style.
"Clear, very pale salmon in colour. A slightly reduced, developing, toasty, elegant nose with apple, rose petal and red currant characters with some yeasty creaminess. Palate has some yeasty complexity, good acid structure, some light red berry and citrus flavours, rose petal, cardamom and Red Delicious apple characters. Dry, high, fine powdery acid. Creamy mousse. A very elegant, refreshing style, but could benefit from some more red berry characters, noted one taster, A wine showing good yeast complexity. said another."
