The 5 traditional varieties of Bordeaux, as grown in the Gimblett Gravels region of Hawkes Bay, have produced a wine of power, elegance and complexity. The beautiful rich red colour and the black fruits aromas and flavours are complimented by a soft, mouth-filling structure and a fine-grained texture.

Aroma

“The Gimblett” is a beautiful blend of ripe blackberry fruit with fresh blackcurrant and dried herbs on the nose.

Palate

Structurally the wine is dense and complex. This structure allows the wine to be very food friendly as a young wine.

Food Matching

Try with red meat and game dishes.

Cellaring

With moderate bottle age of 5 to 8 years it will develop into a complex and complete wine in its own right.
