Overview

Four varieties of grapes are blended to produce a fruit-driven, savoury wine.

The leather and plum aromas of Merlot, the aromatic spice and red currant character of Cabernet Franc, the cassis aroma and the backbone from Cabernet Sauvignon with hints of black pepper from the Syrah, have combined to produce a complex, fruit dominant wine. The sensitive oak aging has added a further dimension to the wine without being obvious. Richness and soft, ripe tannins make this wine a serious yet eminently drinkable wine.

Winery Tasting Notes

Blends

The 2011 Trinity is a Merlot predominant blend including smaller proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. These were fermented separately and then blended to create a serious but entirely delicious wine. A small percent of alternative varieties including Tempranillo, Malbec and Petit Verdot add complexity and palate interest.

Aroma/Palate

The leather and plum aromas of the Merlot combine with aromatic spice and red currant characters of Cabernet Franc. Cassis aromas and backbone are contributed by Cabernet Sauvignon. Richness and soft, ripe tannins make a serious yet eminently drinkable wine.

Cellaring Potential

This wine is made to be enjoyed while still quite young. We recommend drinking now or short term cellaring (3-5 years). It can be enjoyed with a wide range of different flavoured food.
