Margaret River saw a slightly cooler start to the growing season. This turned around in late December with warm to hot days and cool to warm nights, which are more consistent with the norm. These ideal ripening conditions have produced whites with great acid structures and flavour profiles. Again all fruit was disease free with all varieties coming off at perfect ripeness.

The fruit was machine-harvested in the cool of night during February 2013. After crushing the resultant must was transferred to the tank presses where only the free-run juice was utilised for fermentation. Low solids and cool ferment temperatures using specialised yeast strains ensured the fruit characters were preserved to their utmost in the resultant wine. Blending according to style was conducted just prior to bottling.

Pale lime as befits a fresh, new vintage white wine


Lovely, elegant, perfumed bouquet of fresh gooseberry and passionfruit.


Certainly a light bodied wine which is just so easy to drink. There is a real minerality to the palate. The gooseberries and passionfruit from the nose combine with lemon and lime. Zesty and crisp acidity gives the wine a wonderful length with a harmonious balance on the finish.
