"Gorgeous perfumed notes of raspberry, cherry and light plum with a liberal sprinkling of spices. It’s so beautifully pure and expressive of this variety from McLaren Vale. The palate is perfectly seamless with a velvety texture. Fine tannins and silky fine oak are worked into this supple deliciously appealing fruit. Just superb."

"Tatachilla, part of the Lion Nathan stable, has been around for more than a century and has been on an upward spiral since winemaker Fanchon Ferrandi took over the reins. McLaren Vale shiraz is hard to beat, especially when it comes from a vintage as good as this one. Concentrated fruit flavours of plum and blackberry, a dash of spice, chocolate characters, background French oak and supple tannins. "
Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury (12/JUL/2012)
"Tatachilla has been a part of McLaren Vale since vines were first planted more than 100 years ago. With vibrant cassis and ripe cherry, this typical McLaren Vale Shiraz has a smooth, silky texture with powerful coffee perfumed tannins and an earthy, persistent finish."
Nick Stock, Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine (JUL/2012)
"Tatachilla shiraz sees 10 percent new (French) oak these days. Its French complexity suits it. It doesn’t have a great amount of depth but it makes up for it in polish. Medium-weight, clean-faced charm. Blackberries, sweet red cherries/raspberries, brine, cedar-smoke and chocolate. Sets up a smooth train of flavour and then finishes the job as you swallow. Worth a look.
