Another great example of Italian varieties doing well in Australia, and doing great at Coriole!

Produced in the traditional Italian style, it is a beautifully aromatic wine, with a medium body and a very elegant structure.

It has been grown at Coriole for over 10 years, and we are definitely looking for more vintages to come!

Expert Reviews

Stylish, effortless and quintessentially drinkable. Succulent berried fruits with modest input from spice and gum leaf. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't enjoy this. CM - Australian Wine Companion, Rating 91, 27th July 2015

Winery Tasting Notes

Coriole has grown Barbera for over a decade and produces it in the traditional red table wine style of Northern Italy.

Barbera is second only to Nebbiolo in Northern Italy, and is renowned for having marked acidity. This however can be one of the most satisfying wines with a range of foods.

Lifted and aromatic. Sour cherry and spice on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with bright fruit, red berries and a hint of earthiness. A soft, elegant style with clean acidity and fine balance.
