Grant Burge is a 5th generation Barossa vigneron. The history of the Burge family and their long association with winemaking in the region can be traced back to March 1855, when noted tailor John Burge immigrated to the Barossa with his wife Eliza and their two sons, Meshach and Henry.
After crushing and de-stemming, the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks on skins for six to seven days to bring out the maximum colour and flavour. After initial fermentation the wine was transferred to a combination of French and American hogsheads for 15 months to build complexity, structure and balance before bottling.

Winery Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red in colour.
Ripe blackcurrant and cassis fruit from the Cabernet with supple, redcurrant and dark plum flavours from the Merlot.
Rich cassis, dark chocolate and red berry fruits are all beautifully interwoven with a soft silky blueberry core. Hints of spice, black pepper and tobacco give the wine a depth of flavour and richness, which is all supported by fine tannins and spicy oak.
The elegant, refined structure of this wine makes it a great match with a wide range of meat dishes including lamb cutlets, back strap and roast beef.
