Eileen Hardy was the Hardy family matriarch, an indomitable spirit and the first lady of Australian wine. Since taking over at the helm from her late husband Tom Mayfield Hardy, Eileen continued to build the Hardys brand and was recognised with an OBE for her outstanding contribution to the Australian wine industry.
- AUS - Multi-regional
A wine with an impeccable pedigree, and synergy between Tasmania and Hardys? Upper Yarra Bastard Hill vineyard. It?s not easy to identify the contributions of the respective regions, but I would guess the Yarra Valley adds fruit flesh to the minerally structure ex Tasmania. Winery Tasting Notes
Deep yellow in colour with green hue.
Intense aroma of white nectarine and peach. Secondary notes of toasty oak with a hint of lemon will feature in the wine while young.
Wild fermentation yields a flinty mineral character. A rich palate with opulent fruit underpinned by mineral acidity. Stone fruit and citrus flavours interplay on the palate with deft creaminess and structured oak influence. A highly complex wine with wonderful flavour.
