This is the 29th release of this much loved Riesling. As always it makes a lovely drink as a crisp, young white wine, but will easily improve in the bottle for 6-10 years + for those who like Riesling with a little bottle age. I am yet to discover a better Oyster wine than young dry Clare Valley Riesling. Winemaker

Opened in a bracket of five 2013 Clare Valley Rieslings, and tasted pretty quickly, on the basis that first impressions are usually the most important. Slight bottle stink then jasmine, lemon and lime with a juicy burst of citrus flavour set in a firm and lightly chalky/slatey palate. Doesn’t lose its way at any stage on its journey to the back of the palate – lemon tang and spice to farewell. Crunchy, tasty and authoritative all at once. A winner.Rating 94 - Gary Walsh - Wine Front (SEP/2013)
Traditional, perhaps, but deliciously so, with a joyous display of lime, lemon and a faint touch of passionfruit on the palate, balanced and lengthened by crisp acidity on the finish. Rating 94 - Drink by 2023 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (OCT/2013)
Winery Tasting Notes
Brilliant pale green.
Typically fresh and bright displaying layers of lemon/lime zest, tropical fruit and subtle nuances of mineral and wet slate.
Fresh, crisp and dry; the palate is loaded with all the lemon/lime/slate mentioned above. These are all tightly woven around a
core of bright acidity providing length and drive to the soft, dry finish.
As always it makes a lovely drink as a crisp, young white wine, but will easily improve in the bottle for 6-10 years + for those who like Riesling with a little bottle age.
