This is a classic wine that shows the elegance, harmony and sophistication that is necessary to cellar well for many years to come.

"This was the finest pinot in the room at the recent New Zealand tasting (and I gave all ninety a thorough work-out!). A particularly strong vintage for one of the star performing estates of the region, producing a particularly refined wine of brilliant complexity, sniper-like focus, seamless line and sensational length. It swirls with black plums, black cherries, pepper, fennel and mixed spice, with an undercurrent of tannins that are both fine and textural, yet firm and self-assured."

"A wine of real presence. Notably rich and savoury, beautifully fragrant and sweet-fruited, it has impressive depth of cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, in a multi-faceted style with good tannin backbone. Its already delicious, but should flourish with cellaring."

"Great pinot is hard to make, but this wine has a perfectly balanced character with a savoury quality that makes it immensely gluggable. "

Winery Tasting Notes
In its youth the nose shows black cherry, dark chocolate and Asian spice notes that will typically change to savoury, earthy characters as the wine ages.
A rich, concentrated and elegant Pinot Noir with supple savoury tannins. On the palate the layers of dark fruits are beautifully entwined with soft, velvet tannins and a seamless texture.
This wine exhibits power and poise and will age gracefully for 10+ years.
