5 Stars / 93 Points. Trinity Hill owner, John Hancock, is one of the country’s most highly regarded chardony makers. Although perhaps not as intense as the terrific wine from the previous vintage, this still has power, an ethereal texture and an array of nutty, mealy characters adding extra interest to strong, pure fruit and mineral flavours. Very sophisticated chardony indeed. Bob Campbell MW Gourmet Traveller WINE Sep-09
Winery Tasting Notes
Medium straw with tinges of green.
Stonefruit with biscuity notes.
Typical fruit characters from Hawkes Bay Chardonnay such as grapefruit and melon are unemcumbered with the minimal use of oak, in a Chablis vein. The wine is rich and round, with soft acidity and attractive sweet fruit.
