Made from predominantly Verdelho and Chenin Blanc grapes, selected in the vineyard. These grapes are picked slightly later than if we were to utilise them in a classic white style wine, resulting in beautiful but delicate tropical flavours. Fermentation is also stopped early, retaining natural grape sugar in the wine to give the necessary sweetness. The benefit of this is that we realise much lower alcohol content, making this not only fruity and sweet but also light-bodied in style. No one can argue the benefits of lower alcohol wine in these times. All in all a great package and a much loved wine which as always should be served well chilled.

Pale lemon


A restrained blend of lemons, white stone fruit and vanillan oak, with a hint of flinty complexity.


Lovely lemon lime citrus to the fore, with balanced and cleansing acidity on the finish. Medium-bodied with texture and structure. Beautifully integrated barrel fermentation characters of vanillan and nuts. As with the nose, a hint of flintiness adding to the complexity. Cellaring for the next 5 to 7 years may give more complexity for those who like a bigger, richer style, but it also looks great now, fresh and alive.

Sandalford Wines was established in 1840 and is today privately owned by the Prendiville family.

In the early 1970’s Sandalford was one of the pioneers in establishing vineyards in the Margaret River planting 96 hectares in the sub region of Wilyabrup. It is this old, dry grown vineyard that is the source of the Prendiville Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and the Estate Reserve range of wines. These wines under the winemaking expertise of Paul Boulden are superb examples of Margaret River at its best, winning praise from notable wine writers and a series of trophies and gold medals at both national and international wine shows.

A new addition to the Sandalford portfolio is the Margaret River Range of wines positioned at the “midprice point” of today’s premium market. It is the fastest growing segment of the wine market and with Sandalford’s world class resources in Margaret River, this range has been developed to tap into this consumer trend. The wines are sourced from a combination of the Sandalford Estate and other premium vineyards in the Margaret River with wine styles reflecting current consumer tastes for vibrant, up front varietal flavours.
