Winery Tasting Notes

You are all going to like this Pinot Noir. Besides the raspberry and cherry fruit aromas, this is the first Willamette Pinot I've ever gotten bright boysenberry fruit aromas from!

Deep underlying scents of fresh tilled earth and Eastern spice rack further add to the complexity and wonderful smell of this classic Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The mouth-feel and flavours exceed what one expects from the already enticing smell. This wine has lovely balance for those red fruits wrapped up into a velvet-textured tannin shell. The centre of the palate is cherry crème with bright minerality.

Enjoy a long lasting finish accented by red cherry and a hint of dark chocolate.

Arglye Pinot Noir is grown exclusively on hillside slopes in Oregon's Willamette Valley located above the 45th Parallel.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Prospecting the new world’s coolest latitudes Brian Croser and Rollin Soles staked a claim in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, a place ideal for late season ripened Pinot Noir fruit. Since 1987 Argyle has produced world class wines from low yielding vines on winery farmed hillside slopes.

The varying elevation of the vineyards allows the fruit to be picked progressively from lower to higher elevations as they reach their peak ripeness. Argyle farms three vineyards: Knudsen Vineyard, Stoller Vineyard and Lone Star Vineyard in the Dundee and Eola Hills in Willamette Valley, Oregon USA.

Texas native Rollin Soles has caused a positive stir amongst US wine critics and consumers alike since co-founding Argyle Winery in 1987. His reputation as one of America’s most talented winemakers continues to grow.
