Sandalford Wines owns one of the largest and oldest vineyards in Margaret River, 93 Ha first planted in 1970. This low-yielding, dry-grown vineyard in the prestigious Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River provides virtually all the fruit for the Sandalford Estate Reserve range. Sandalford spares no expense at any stage of their production to ensure that each wine is a benchmark in it's own right.
The 2015 vintage in Margaret River started with an unusually warm winter and plenty of rainfall, followed by mild and windy conditions in November, resulting in a prolonged flowering period. This changed in the second half of December to ideal ripening weather, dry and sunny without any extreme heat events and stayed consistent through to the end of February. The whites all harvested during this period are of exceptional quality, showing intense varietal characters.

Winery Tasting Notes
A restrained blend of grapefruit, peaches, sweet vanilla and caramelised cashews.
This wine starts with peaches and nectarines, opening to reveal notes of vanilla spiced cashews and butterscotch with grapefruit and lemon citrus characters on the back palate.
Beautifully integrated French oak from the barrel fermentation results in a medium-bodied wine with lovely texture. The cleansing acidity gives structure and length to the finish.
Cellaring for the next 5-7 years will give more complexity for those who like a bigger richer style.
