Juicy “kirsch” like fruit, dark chocolate and cedary oak are the main players on the palate with some fine tannins adding length and backbone to the soft, rich fruit.

Winery Tasting Notes

Medium to deep red.

Attractive and complex aromas of stewed strawberries, black cherries and some “animale” all backed up by lovely charry French oak and some “foresty” notes.

Rich, ripe strawberry / cherry fruit and quality charry French oak are the main players on the palate. Fine tannins and well balanced acid add a little length and backbone to the soft, savoury palate.

A really good wine from an excellent year in SA for Pinot Noir producers. This should drink nicely now and over the next 3-6 years.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Pike & Joyce represents the coming together of two families to form a partnership in wine. The Pike family, long established in winemaking, viticulture and brewing, and the Joyce family, longtime horticulturists, banded together in 1997 to develop a new joint venture vineyard at Lenswood, in the Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia. Both families have been at the forefront of their respective fields for over 100 years. Only varieties totally suited to the cool climate of this region have been planted on the former apple, pear and cherry orchard site. These varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Both families hope you will enjoy these wines.
