A powerful, definite and beautifully balanced wine with flavours of cassis, plum and liquorice combining with just a hint of fresh tobacco, spearmint and spice. This wine displays both the true varietal and vineyard characters that the famed Terra rossa soils of the Coonawarra in South Australia are renowned for. This is a concentrated and powerful wine with a fine, elegant tannin structure. It has benefited from aging in new and seasoned French oak barriques for 15 months.

Mid-weight with good varietal and regional character. Blackcurrant and redcurrant with input from mint and dried tobacco. Goes all right, as they say. Indeed, slightly better than that.Rating 92 - James Halliday, 27 July 2015.
