A fantastic follow up to the wonderful 2012 vintage. Fast flowering saw an even fruit set producing a good crop. The warm and dry summer, followed by a cool autumn were ideal conditions for balanced and uniform ripening of the grapes. The resultant wines are strong in both colour and fruit concentration – an outstanding Coonawarra vintage.

A convincing wine. High alcohol but it comes across as well balanced. It tastes of blackcurrant, cedar wood, dusty Italian herbs and both warmed black olives and tar. It's generally eager to please, even given its ingrained ropes of firm tannin. There is though little doubt that if it could have been picked earlier a better result would have ensued. Winery Tasting Notes
Deep reddish purple hue of youth.
Vibrant fresh fine-grained oak reminiscent of pencil shaving and rich fruit are evident on the bouquet of this wine.
The palate shows both these characteristics in a rich mouth feel that is well complemented by the long classic Coonawarra tannin structure. The vibrancy and richness of this wine are a nod to the vineyard improvement program ongoing since 2004.
