A unique blend showcasing aromatic lychees on the nose, a spicy and generous wine.
This wine was inspired by the French region of Alsace, home to the three varieties and blending which has been going on for centuries. Generous lychee and tropical fruits from the Gewurtraminer, natural acidity and lingering flavours from the Riesling with mid-palate fruit and textural complexity from the Pinot Gris combine to create an intriguing yet very approachable wine.

"A touch of gardenia among musky peel fruit, even a sniff of complexing prosciutto (don’t know where this is corning from, but dont care). The gewurz and gris flesh out the palate, balancing the riesling austerity. Wafts of Turkish Delight."

"Perhaps inspired by the Edelzwicker wines of Alsace, this blend of gewurztraminer, riesling and pinot gris is aromatic with floral, lychee and tropical fruit scents. The palate has spicy fruit, good ripeness levels, smooth texture and a dry finish that stops just short of bitterness."

"Taking a mix of three grape classic grape varieties for the Clare Valley ‘Three’ is a mix of gewürztraminer, riesling and pinot gris. This trio of grapes have been blended together in Alsace in France for centuries. This is a highly aromatic and floral wine with lavender, rose petals and tropical fruits. Gewurztraminer is known for its spice, which is nicely balanced here with lime and citrus flavours typical of riesling, and a rounded texture from pinot gris. Well worth a try for something a little bit different. "

"A blend of gewurztraminer, riesling and pinot gris that has earned quite a following for Knappstein. One of the first wines created by new winemaker Glenn Barry, it comes together in perfect synergy with its fragrant notes on the nose, tropical and stonefruit flavours, spice and musky characters, brilliant acidity and a crisp, clean finish."

Winery Tasting Notes
55% Gewürztraminer 40% Riesling 5% Pinot Gris
This unique blend is a heady, aromatic mix of lychee, tropical fruits and rose petals.
The palate has wonderful lemon and lime flavours with a hint of spice. The texture of the Pinot Gris adds complexity to the spine of the Riesling and the opulence of the Gewürztraminer.
