Made with fruit sourced from some of the oldest vines (over 25 years) the Reserve Pinot Noir showcases Pinot Noir's layers and complexity coupled with elegance and richness of flavour.
- VIC - Mornington Peninsula
A blend of six vineyards from the Merricks, Main Ridge and Red Hill localities; destemmed and fermented in small pots, the components were separately aged in French oak (30% new) for nine months before blending and return to barrel for a further five months. The very light, but bright, colour introduces a perfumed, light-bodied pinot noir with pretty red fruits. Rating 90 - Drink by 2017 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/2013)
Winery Tasting Notes
A bright but light coloured cherry red.
Some nice floral (rose petals) and sweet raspberry lift, with a hint of smoky complexity. With more air, a different array of red berries start to sing out of the glass.
Very rounded with a lovely soft centre of sweet fruit. The fruit profile tends to be more red berries, with earthy raspberry to the fore and some nice Satsuma plum. The sweeter fruited palate is never allowed to get out of hand though with a lovely undertone of superfine, but abundant savoury tannins providing direction and a firm structure.
