This magnificent vintage cuvee is a true expression of the intensity and the richness of Grand Cru Pinot Noir which accounts for 80% of the blend. The remaining 20% is Chardonnay, also from Grand Crus vineyards.

4 Stars & 16.8/20 Points "Clean, fresh, attractive Pinot Noir-domint aroma. Lovely, ripe fruit, good depth of flavor, acidity spot on. Stylish." Decanter (UK), January 2009
92 Points "A ripe, soft wine that still does mage to preserve the Ayala lightness of touch. The fruit is green apple and pink grapefruit with great freshness. The structure, though, is open and hints of yeast show through the fruit. The aftertaste is deliciously fresh." Wine Enthusiast (US) (USA), December 2008
96 Points "Baked apple, currant and raisin toast on the nose. But the palate is what counts: searing lime zest and blackberry pip stacked onto tight minerally acidity. Lovely mouth aromas of nutty toast. Pure class." Australian Fincial Review, Tim White (Australia), 30 Nov 08
Winery Tasting Notes
As a major characteristic of the vintage, Pinot Noir shows a lot of strength and vinosity to which Chardonnay brings a nice touch of freshness. Some lovely well developed aromas of honey, acacia, toast and chestnut, very Pinot Noir. A very good structure of the wine, quite intense but definitely not heavy. Superb bouquet and fabulous on the palate: this vintage is one of the best of the 1990’s.
