Hand Picking and careful handling preserve its classic lemon and lime flavours with hints of Watervale florals.
Palate balanced by a refreshing mineral acidity. The wine was made with minimal intervention to preserve fruit purity, with the fruit gently crushed with only the best free-run juice used. Fruit comes from Knappstein's Ackland Vineyard and three vineyards on elevated slate further north towards to town of Clare.

"This label was one of the standouts at a recent riesling retrospective of the 2002 vintage held by a handful of Clare Valley winemakers. Both the 2002 and the current-release, 2012, were absolute crackers. The older wine showing fabulous exotic fruit richness and Asian-spice complexity, the younger version all tangy limes and nervy juiciness. It shows that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a classic Australian dry riesling that you know you can comfortably cellar for a decade or more. "

"Light yellow colour. Lovely floral, fragrant, lavender-like aroma, flowers of many varieties. The palate is delicate and soft, clean and pure. The fruit has some concentration and richness within the delicate framework. The balance and drinkability are outstanding."

"Stunning example of riesling from this very good year. Comes from Clare in South Australia. The flavour is intense and lingering, with a mix of floral citrus characters. A little linear minerality helps focus the finish. One of those wines you just keep going back to. Crunchy and vibrant."
