A dry, crisp, light bodied wine. This wine is designed to be fruit-driven and to display the classic MR combination of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. This it does with some pervasive lightly mown grass, a hint of citrus from the Semillon.

5 Stars & Best Wine of 2008. Lovely, soft, fresh varietal bouquet and lively sauvignon blanc characters of green bean, asparagus and citrus obvious on the palate. Incredibly fresh with lean acid. “Love it” said one judge Winestate Annual 2009 Jan-09
4.5 Stars. "A blend of Margaret River semillon and sauvignon blanc, the Sandalford is carefully crafted with an edge in elegance and finesse over its rivals. Crisp citrus character, hints of green herbs, some nuances of passionfruit and guava and refreshing acidity amount to a pleasant white. " Paddy Kendler Herald Sun 17 Feb-09
Star Recommendation. "Deserved winner of trophies at the Adelaide and New Zealand Intertiol Wine Show, this is truly a classic dry white. A 70/30 blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, it has wonderfully ripe tropical fruit flavours, which abound in a clear and crisp wine of great balance. " Dr Peter Hay Australian Doctor Feb-09
4 Stars. Leaner style with some sweet capsicum aromas and sweet lemon flavours that build up along the length of the palate. Winestate May-09
92 Points. Tropical fruit balanced by a slight herbaceous edge; very good texture and fine and long on the finish. James Halliday Wine Companion 2010 Jun-09
Winery Tasting Notes
Pale lime as befits a fresh, new vintage of white wine.
Lovely, elegant, perfumed bouquet of fresh cape gooseberry and manage tout.
Certainly a light bodied wine which is just so easy to drink. There is a real minerality to the palate and those flavours seen on the nose translate beautifully to the palate. As reflected in the vintage the acidity is perfectly judged and the wine finished with a zesty crispness and harmonious balance.
A worthy follow-up to the multi trophy winning 2008.
