Winery Tasting Notes
Deep red with vibrant crimson hues.
Complex aromas of ripe blackberry and cassis, flawlessly integrated with oak-derived notes of cinnamon and spice. The fruit characters are rich and concentrated, and are highlighted by undertones of licorice.
Concentrated cassis, blackberry and mint flavours combined with stylish and sympathetic oak, supported by supple, fine-grained tannins. The richness and intensity of the fruit flavours are perfectly balanced by fresh acidity, and the well-handled oak serves to enhance the dense varietal and regional characters of this wine.
Careful cellaring of this wine for the next 8-12 years will enable further development and integration of the ripe and intense fruit flavours for which it has come to be known.
Recommended with herb-crusted lamb rack, served with Rösti of sweet potato and basil, and a red wine glaze. The herbs bring out a hint of herbaceousness in this wine.
