Winery Tasting Notes
The wine displays a rich complex nose of ripe plums, spice and lifted violets with wonderful cedary French oak. The full and intense palate of plums and red berries and balanced by soft sandy tannins and classic elegant Clare Valley structure. Vintage: The 2005 vintage was a dry year with less than half the average rainfall. Mild temperatures through the summer and early autumn provided for a long even ripening. Vineyard: The Yertabulti vineyard is located on an elevated vineyard on the north eastern edge of the Clare Valley. The shiraz vines are very low yielding and grow on the classic "terra rossa" soils found on these slopes.
