Winery Tasting Notes

Antique gold

Honeysuckle, fig and preserved citrus with floral and spicy notes.

Passionfruit, mango and candied peel with a creamy mouthfeel balanced by crisp acid and a refreshing spritz.

The fruit is sourced from a single vineyard of mature 20 year old vines from the Murray-Darling region in Victoria. The vineyard is situated on the banks of the Murray River on alluvial, fertile ocre-red sandy loams. Warm summer temperatures facilitate ideal ripening conditions and flavour accumulation of this unique, highly aromatic variety. Vineyards receive controlled irrigation inputs to ensure canopies remain healthy whilst maintaining concentrated and distinct varietal character.

Grape Varietals

The grape variety for this Preece Moscato offering is 100% Orange Muscat. This lessor known variety from the Muscat family is predominantly grown in California where it is commonly used for dessert wines, however there are sporadic plantings in the Murray Valley and Rutherglen regions region of Victoria . The variety thrives in warmer sunny climates and reaches flavour maturity early in the season. As the name suggests, the variety is characterised by heady orange blossom and apricot aromas along with a hint of an orange coloured hue in the finished wine.
