The first batch of Jacob’s Creek wine was tiny compared to today’s production – less than 10,000 cases of 1973 Shiraz Cabernet Malbec blend.
The new wine was created at a time when there was an oversupply of red and a trend towards white. But the winemaking and marketing teams at Orlando were quietly confident they were onto a winner.

Winery Tasting Notes
Mid crimson red
A lively nose, with spicy red fruits, cherries and star anise, supported by hints of cedary oak.
A medium-bodied palate, with vibrant, layered fruit flavours supported by a framework of soft, fine-grained tannins, concluding with long, velvety finish. This wine displays the synergies of flavour and structure which can be achieved by carefully blending soft, rounded Shiraz with elegant Cabernet Sauvignon.
Enjoy with grilled steak, pizza or tomato based pasta dishes.
