4.5 Stars / 93 Points - "This unique Greche-shiraz-touriga blend shows impressive complexity and bright fruit aromas. Really attractive spicy fragrance and bright lift, ripe dark cherries and plum fruits; lovely stuff. The palate wields impressive power and is already knitted together; medium weighted tannins with the oak buried deep below concentrated ripe plum and red fruit flavours. Brilliant." - Nick Stock - Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2009 - January 2009.
Winery Tasting Notes
Velvety red with plum hues.
The nose is spicier than its predecessors; it is a fragrant potpourri of rose petals, cherries, and sweet spices. The bouquet pleasantly finishes with some subtle gamey earthiness.
Somewhat defies the medium intensity velvety red, as the wine is vibrant and displays considerable length and texture. It has a complex array of flavours from savoury game and chestnut to lively cherry notes.
We highly recommend this style with rich gamey dishes such as duck confit or roast duck. Also perfect with smoked meats and sausages.
Enjoy now or cellar until 2012, with the wine developing even further complexity.
